The temple Ginkaku-ji is one of the most famous temples in Kyoto. Originally a villa built in 1489 by shogun Yoshimasa Ashikaga. It should had been coated with silver foil, but it was never done. Muso Soseki converted the site to a temple named jisho-ji. The rock and sand garden with a pile of sand, that is said to symbolize Mt. Fuji, is part of a garden with wooden areas, water and mosses.
